As pump operating it will build pressure up to 44 psi max and it will disable itself. No bypass is needed as the pump will not damage itself when the oil flow is stopped (usually by a nozzle) The pump is not design for continuous running, should not be left on for a long period of time, as it will wear down the vanes inside the pump, but it is ok for normal usage.
