Once these studs are torqued to spec, they keep the cylinder heads tight and secure. One other upgrade for you to take note of - this kit does not come with the same pistons your truck had when it left the assembly line. Instead, we offer our kit with the Navistar Maxxforce 7 pistons. Factory pistons are flawed in design and are prone to cracking on the thin lip towards the center of the bowl. The Navistar Maxxforce 7 pistons are de-lipped right out the gate, leaving you with a much more reliable piston that has a higher tolerance when it comes to your more demanding engine operating temperatures.
